Mama Luz - Our Light and Love
Mama Luz turns 80 on June 30, 2020 - but her beauty and pure heart are never a day older. Here with the love of her life, Papa Melo Villaroman Sr.
Mama Luz Villaroman is the light and love to her seven children with Melo Villaroman Sr, extended families of their married children, 24 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren! I received this beautiful love and shining light when I married her son, Melo Jr, 31 years ago. She told me after our wedding that ours will be a different and special kind of mother-in-law/daughter-in-law relationship because we will both make it beautiful and perfect. She told me we will never have any conflict because we love the same man, Melo Jr, and this love will always protect our relationship as in-laws. Really, this is true to this day!

Let me count the ways why Mama Luz is our light and love! She is very prayerful, never fails to pray for everything and everyone: for her beloved Melo Sr, a stroke patient for eight years now; children and grandchildren; people asking for prayers; those who are not even asking for prayers; and all the poor souls in purgatory! Mama Luz who celebrates her milestone 80th birthday on 30th June is an epitome of compassion. She taught all her children to help people in need – physically and spiritually.

Mama Luz is full of wisdom, loves to tell stories and jokes, and loves to sing. She is deeply passionate to serve God and people by serving in the parish and community. Because of her and Papa’s examples, their seven children and grandchildren are serving mostly in the same community, some in parish and medical missions.
Mama Luz and Nini’s strong mother/daughter in law bond is a rare gift worth emulating.
My mother in law is simply beautiful! Her modesty in dressing inspires me and the best part is the way she presents herself confidently and makes herself God’s channel of His beautiful love and bright light everyday!
